Patanjali Ayurdev in Nepal


President Bidya Devi Bhandari has said Nepal is rich in biological diversifications and it is the need of the hour to conserve herbs that are produced in the country.
Inaugurating the Patanjali Ayurved Pvt Ltd at Prasauni-9 in Bara amidst a programme here today, the President said the establishment of the industry has helped further consolidate the Nepal-India age-old relations.

The establishment of the industry has helped create employment opportunities in the country, the President said, expressing her gratitude to Yoga guru (teacher) Ramdev and Ayurved Shiromani Acharya Balkrishna for their contribution in making the people aware of the importance of Yoga practise to live a healthy life and further promoting it.
Minister for Agriculture Gaurishankar Chaudhary said Nepal's highland is home to herbs production, insisting on their proper utilization.

Ayurved Shiromani Acharya spoke of the need of opening a herb research center in Nepal.
India's Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae said the Patanjali has helped further strengthen the Nepal-India relations existing on different spheres.

On the occasion, French ambassador to Nepal emphasised the importance of conserving medicinal herbs particularly acknowledged as a source of integral part of ayurveda in Nepal while recognising an important role of Patanjali in human health. Dr Upendra Mahato, founding chairman of the Non-Resident Nepali Association and Patanjali Yogpeeth Nepal trustee Shaligram Singh were also present in the event.

Also at the event, Yoga Guru Ramdev honoured President Bhandari by draping a shawl over her body and gifted herthe Mithila painting. Likewise, President Bhandari honoured Acharya Balkrishna, the aide to Yoga Guru Ramdev.
Meanwhile, President Bhandari returned to Kathmandu via a helicopter today itself after the event concluded.
Established with a total 1.6 billion joint investment of NRNA founding Chairman Mahato and Patanjali Yogpeeth and brought into operation eight months ago, the industry produces 55 types of essentials including food and cosmetic items.
A total of 90 percent of raw materials and chemicals are imported from India for the industry while Nepal just makes up meager 10 percent. RSS
