Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister, Sher Bahadur Deuba, was called on by Chinese delegation headed by Director General of the International Department of the Communist Party of China, Yuan Zhibing, on Saturday.
During the meeting held at Deuba residence at Budhanilkantha, matters related to the contemporary political situation as well as Nepal-China relation and mutual cooperation were discussed.
The leader of the Chinese delegation said Nepal-China relation has become stronger of late and China wants further consolidation on bilateral relations.
Handing over the invitation letter to President Deuba, the Chinese delegation said they would be excited to welcome President Deuba in China, said Chief Secretary of the NC Party Office, Krishna Prasad Poudel.
On the occasion, the NC President Deuba said Nepal was fully committed to One China Policy and there was no need to cast doubt on Nepal's stance to that end.
He said that there has been close and friendly relations between the two neigthbours since long. NC President Deuba gave assurance that the election would be held on the slated time by bringing all parties including Madhes-based parties into consensus by amending the constitution.
Lauding the support and good will of the government of China and Chinese people for Nepal's development, he assured the Chinese delegation that he would make China visit on appropriate time
