The Ministry of Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has launched a management information system (MIS) relating to the cooperatives and poverty on Monday.Inaugurating the MIS, Minister for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Hridayaram Thani said, "Time has come for the country to embrace ICT for development to suit the 21st century. I believe that such web portal giving information would make any records transparent and accountable."
According to him, such technology was adopted to make the internal control system robust, so that good governance would be ensured.
On the occasion, lawmaker Om Devi Malla expressed her confidence that such system would help make the information system credible and open. Data would help to make the policy relating to poverty alleviation, she added.
The system was developed in two years.
With the MIS in place, the all data related to the cooperatives and poverty would be attained conveniently, informed Ministry Secretary Rajendra Kishor Chhetri.
