Speaking at the 14th anniversary of the Sambad Club here today, leader Nepal argued that the media sector should be the voice of the people to unify the country that, he claimed, is in need of social goodwill.
Similarly, CPN (ML) General Secretary Chandra Prakash (CP) Mainali commented that the wrong trend was growing as a fad, referring to the amendment of the new constitution. "The constitution should be amended but not in an inappropriate way."
Likewise, Nepali Congress (NC) central committee member, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, asserted that the NC-led people's movement helped establish the rule of law in the country following the fall of monarchical system.
He also took the opportunity to remind NC's struggle for establishing rule of law.
CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Agni Sapkota was of the view that there was no alternative to holding the provincial election after conducting the local level election.
Rastriya Prajatantra Party's senior leader Pashupati Shumsher Rana expressed his concern over the keeping up with the country's seven per cent of economic growth achieved in 23 years in the last fiscal year.
He also rued for the slow economic growth of the country comparing it to the fastest growing economies such as India and China.
CPN Maoist leader CP Gajurel was of the opinion that the current national statute does not reflect the sentiments of the public. Hitting out at the NC, he claimed that there was no significant change in the life standards of the people despite the decades of democracy.
