Artist Singh breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Kolkatta Medical and Research Centre in India last Friday. He was 59.
Singh’s dead body was brought to Nepal and kept for those wishing to pay their final tributes at Nepal Academy today.
Singh had performed in several Nepali feature films including ‘Pachis Basanta’, ‘Dui Thopa Ansu’, ‘Koseli’, ‘Chino’, ‘Rahar’ and ‘Buhari’, among others, shared General Secretary of Nepal Artists Association, Sarita Lamichhane.
He is survived by his spouse, two daughters and a son.
The Kirat Manch Nepal on Monday felicitated the world ultra – marathon runner Mira Rai here in the district.
Former Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) leader, Gopal Kirati, conferred the award and cash prize on Mira amidst a function held at Kirat Rai Yayokha Tayararipchi Building.
Leader Kirati handed over Rs 50,000 in cash prize along with an appreciation letter to Mira and said her contribution to Nepal is highly commended.
He also expressed his joy that a girl from the indigenous community has become a world class marathon runner to achieve a courageous feat of making Nepal popular. National Geography and Nature Adventurers of the Year – 2016 winner, Mira Rai, hails from Bhojpur.
